Ottomans: Splurge Item

By Lindsey Walta, December 1, 2008 | In interior decorating |

When it comes to decorating, you don’t always have to break the bank to make a statement. I am a big proponent of spending the majority of the budget in areas that’ll give you the most for your money. It also depends on you and how much you like to change things. Me, I don’t want to pay an arm and a leg for lamps and pillows and knick knacks because I tend to change out those things. Your money is better spent on basics that will last you a long time, are classic, well-made, and will transition easily should you move or change decor.

With that said, every “wow” room needs a “wow” item. In my opinion this is usually something that is just for that room and “makes it.” It doesn’t have to be timeless or conventional or even functional, it just pulls everything together and gets you that double take that everyone wants.

So when you’ve been smart and made thoughtful, timeless choices, go ahead and splurge on one item that will add the final punch to your room and make it shine.

Anything can be the “wow” item, but here are some ottomans I found that will make anyone take notice.
