Beach Side Style

By Lindsey Walta, June 29, 2009 | In Home Design |

Having just returned from a fantastic beach vacation, I can’t get out of my head the beautiful beachside cottage we stayed in or the quaint little town it was located in. There is something about being at the beach that makes simple, fresh style so appropriate and nothing is more enjoyable than a sunset bike ride down the street for ice cream. Beach living is just more relaxed and enjoyable and I wish I could do more of it.

With all this on my mind, I thought a lot about the light colors accentuated with bright pops of color that are so common at the beach. Only there does a hot pink exterior on a house make perfect sense.

Here are a few of my favorite beach-inspired interiors from my main source of reading material this week, Coastal Living Magazine.

  1. Beach motifs are also great in golf resort residential settings. We’re getting ready to build in this setting and choosing a "beachy" interior for the master bedroom is an interesting alternative. The window treatments and accessories are not overstated but gives the room a cheery, light and breezy ambience. I like!!!

My master will have lots of windows amd a vaulted ceiling sitting room.

    Thanks for the inspiration!!!
